I don't understand how people can do a 45+ minute commute regardless of gas prices.
I consider it the price I pay to live where I want to. I don't feel that I can find another job in my line of work local to my area that will pay as well as where I'm at now. Plus, I couldn't afford to live where I work; the taxes alone would kill me. The commute is worthwhile when I'm sitting on my deck on two acres of woods and mountain under a clear blue sky with a Jack and Coke in one hand and my guitar in the other. Not to mention how happy my boys and my Native American friend Wife (Pronounced Wee-fay) are living out in the country. Can't put a price on that as far as I'm concerned.

Sure, I guess I could get a job near home, but the idea of starting over somewhere new when I love the people I work with and what I'm doing now doesn't appeal to me at all. I want my cake and I wanna eat it too. If that means I have to spend more at the pumps, I'll just have to sit back and take it until things get better.

As for the MPG, well, I take the family car (VW Jetta Wagon, 30-32 MPG) most of the week and take the Jeep the one day Wife needs to get provisions for the papooses. The actual commute itself isn't so bad as long as the CD player works!
