Well it sort of struck a nerve. I mean I don't consider Bound Brook a bad town nor a ghetto. At least not yet. I wouldn't consider moving because my family has a lot of history in the house I live in. Its been through 5 generations of my family (me being the 5th) and my parents have a strong attachment to it. It is where they grew up and where I grew up. It is also conveniently located near major highways and areas of employment and places to go and things to do. It's just that the town has gotten progressively worse over the years and the dumb mayor and councilmen don't lift a finger to do anything to revamp the town and crack down on people upkeeping their house. And the police are never around from what I can see, yet Bound Brook is one of the best paying towns for a police officer to work in.
I mean imagine growing up in a town where there used to be town parties at the local park, the swimming pool was well kept and swimming lessons were given, you played baseball and sports with every kid in town, and everyone knew each other, and their parents knew each other, and so on.
Now there is a shoprite where I used to play baseball, a baseball diamond where I used to play soccer, everyone that my parents and I grew up with moved away, old timers are dying, illegals are moving in, the downtown is an eye soar, BB High School has one of the worst reps for producing bad students, kids spray painting things, and LISTENING TO LOUD MUSIC.
I mean I am not living in the past, but it doesn't mean I shouldn't stick up and fight for some things that have changed that directly affect my family and I. A sprinkler system in a good idea but I live on a corner where there all there is is sidewalk between my driveway and the side road, so some one would probably screw with it.
