I work for a market research company. We test public perceptions of ads and concepts every day. We have a pretty good idea of how to gauge what works and what doesn't, and a lot of GM's stuff is crap. I've been pushing to do a perception test of the Rolling Stones/Guy Richie ad vs. one of the "American Revolution" ads just for fun, to see how people view the two of them. If it ever happens I'll post results.

Good point. I will admit that Chevy pulled out thier gas friendly commercials again, with the sneeky gas pump. That was funny and I could remember that. I also liked the ones where that black guy walked around cars with the kids and showed them Chevy's gas friendly vehicles like the Volt, Tahoe Hybrid, and other E85 cars they had. Kids are cute.
Caddy has decent commercials, as does Saturn.
Too bad for PBG as well as Saab.
By far, best commercials GM has or had, are Hummer commercials.
