I'm assuming your by your "internet" you only mean your browser software?
Can you be more specific with "nothinghappens"? Is there an error message? unable to resolve address?
open up a command prompt and type ping google.com - do you get results? If you do I would check your connection settings in IE. What kind of ISP do you have? Do you need to connect through a proxy or is it just home use? I'd need some more information before I help you further.
