call up insurance, ask if it will go up. The policy i have doesn't go up for points. Find out if it does go up, how much it will go up (for both companies) and decide from there if the $450 unsafe driving ticket (plus court costs) is worth what you'll save in insurance.

I would go to court, talk to the prosecutor, see what he can do, and hope they drop it to non-points. If they do but it costs more and insurance doesn't go up, I would take the original ticket.
