Twas a vac problem...big one in fact.

You see...I found out the other day that the intake manifold bolts had backed off, causing oil to spray on to the engine, aming the smoke. After countless times I thought it was the valve cover or oil pan, which in some cases it was, but it seems that the intake itself is warped.
Koll came over, and was trying to help me fix it. I looked, and saw fuel mist coming from around the bottom of the carb.
Sure enough, where the carb sat was warped, and was not flat. There was space under the carb, between the gasket and the intake. Enough to put another gasket in there.
The bolts were as tight as they could go, and the carb did not budge when pushing it...so we concluded that the carb flange is warped, as is the whole intake.
So I will be looking to purchase a new intake,. Looks like some of that part time money is going right to work....yay.
