As people they may be ok, but when doing their so called JOB, I'm not a fan of most of them.
Ex. 1 17 years old driving down the shore absolutely not driving like a jackass only had a v6 maro at the time. cop pulled me over for spinning my tires onto 35 N which didn't happen. Gave me attitude, and partner gave my friend in passenger seat attitude. They seemed to have a predetermined agenda to SHOW ME WHO WAS BOSS.
Ex. 2 Driving home at night in the rain, friend in car, attempting to make a right hand turn before noticing the road was blocked for construction. Unable to stop car and hit car crossing over street in front of me. Cops arrived 20 min later and issue me a ticket for running a red light. Wasn't what happened. GO to court Judge turns back on me and tells stenographer to wake him if he falls asleep. Father there as witness to judges antics. I had no fair trial so add judges to list of not liked people
Ex. 3 cell phone law, they will pull you over, but I see them driving on their cell phones all the time.
Ex. 4. L.E. plates. I can't tell you how many times I'm driving around and some douche is up my ass and when they pass I see they have L.E. plates. I guess they don't have to obey the law even when off duty.
Ex. 5. Brotherhood, they do what ever they want other cops won't ticket them. Laws should be applied evenly across the board.
Ex. 6 In college driving with tinted windows grand prix 98 new, get pulled over harassed about why someone from Essex Co. is so far from home. I guess it's bad I'm going to college away from home jealous I guess. Amazingly enough 2 days later same cop pulls me over for same thing. Even more amazing bmws, mercedez, lexus cars with limo tint he didn't pull any of them over and they passed him just before I did.
I have only had 1 good experience with a local cop but that was because I had a PBA card and ex. 5 played in my favor. other wise I probably would have been arrested for drag racing.
Can't say I have had enough good experiences to respect them for the job they do, but I give them credit when it comes to doing the job they were meant to do like catching real criminals. Drunk drivers, killers, rapists. I think they are more for raising money for the towns then actually keeping us safe.
