Its kind known that the 3.4's sound a little better that the 3.8s because of the firing order, so i have read and possibly because i like to continue to spread that notion because I'm a little bias

You will lose some low end torque with the cutout and it wont sound horrible, it will just sound like a v6. Either v6 can sound good at idle to ~3k, over that well its an acquired taste.
