Start with checking the timing. Then make sure the carb isn't adjusted open too far so fuel keeps dripping out. It looks like the car is probably a plain 70 with stuff added to it to make it look like an SS. A true SS car would have a 12 bolt rear and the 3 piece tall spoiler isn't original. It looks like a nice car to start with.
