LinkedIN is a decent site to have your credentials listed, which is several steps above using something like Monster or Career Builder. But like all professional employment sites, its really who you know and how much effort you put into your search. Use LinkedIN as a passive reference for employers who are checking up on you after you've had the initial phone interview; don't rely on it to sell your skills and experience.
Time to dust off the rolodex and call in a few favors.
