Yea I got the turbo version. As far as the space goes - I was hesitant about Mini's at first, in a way I'm used to driving the SRX and it is certainly bigger than a mini. However, when I sat in a cooper there was plenty of space, in fact the seat was all the way back and I barely could reach the pedals... I'm 6', 185lbs and I feel like the seats were made for me
I find it very comfortable, at least so far.

2002 - 2006 are supercharged, 2007+ are Turbo.
