These aren't connected so really shouldn't be your problem. I would look into the sockets in the front which tend to get burnt pretty badly. Water can get in there as well and cause problems. Mine weren't in the best of shape so I replaced them with new ones and dropped in some LEDs. Got new clear houses as well and I don't expect to have ANY issues even though I had none before.

Check the harness grounds as well for corrosion. Don't forget the tail light lamps and harness as well.

All are kind of a PITA but start by checking all the sockets to see if they are burnt and work from there.
