I grew up on NASCAR, and I still remember watching races in th 80s when the cars were still relatively close to their showroom counterparts.
I would love to see NASCAR mandate stock chassis w / full cage, 4" spoilers front and rear, and showroom engines with only a standard set of bolt-on tweaks allowed (intake / exhaust / tuning / etc). Set a standard range of tire sizes, and let them run what they want from any manufacturer.
And the most important rule - NO LEVELING THE PLAYING FIELD! If a manufacturer is upset that they aren't winning, let them redesign their car or just deal with it.
