yeah, i was the one who said headlines, and i said wrong kind of headlines. if he led an exemplary life up until this point he still made the mistake of street racing and it made the wrong kind of headline. i never said i was above it all looking down, judging those below me because i never made a mistake in my life. just because i have made a mistake or two and own up to them and take responsibility for them, does that mean that i can't call it like it is? of course not. it is what it is, regardless of who points it out.
street racing is wrong. you take far more into your control than your own life when you street race. i think it goes far deeper than that, though, as it proves that it doesn't matter who you are, rich or poor, smart or idiot, famous or nobody: when you street race, people can and do get hurt (his girlfriend was ejected from the car and he's dead). how that makes me an idiot is beyond me. how that makes me someone who sits in an ivory tower passing out judgments is beyond me. he chose to street race and he paid the price. it doesn't matter who he was.
that's how this thread got to be where it is, at least in my opinion. i say so what if people idolized him; he still chose to street race and one dead and one injured are added to the statistics.
