Press the studs. You can use a bench vise. For removal, place a nut on the old stud and a large socket behind the back of the stud. Place a large socket or piece of pipe over the stud's threads and tighten the vise. This will press the stud in. Stop when the flange of the stud is flush with the back of the axle. We use this method at the track all the time. takes a bit of time and energy, but it works.
