and i said the stingray idea cuz of the whole retro idea, i think if they did it right, that it would sell pretty well, but thats my own opinion. i didnt really like that prototype lol, too space age-y i think for vettes, again, myown opinion so i dont want people to get offended by what i say lol

I understand what you are saying, but no I dont think that the price should be brought down either. I remember when the C6 came out, it started out about 2 grand less then outgoing base C5.
What will make Corvette sell better is to make it better. Corvette team is in a groove, they have a focus, they have a long history, and they must continue to improve the vehicle. Like the 911, it needs to constantly be updated, improved and be tops in its class.
Things the C7 needs to bring to the table is a better interior fitting of a 50k car. Sit in a CTS or grab some seat time in the upcoming LaCrosse. These cars are high 20's, low 30's starting, and have an interior that make the Corvette's look like a Cobalt, which IMO is the worst interior in GM's line up, worse then Aveo.
C7 also needs to aim to come in under 3000lbs base. Cut another 5-6 inches off the car should help. Direct injection and smaller displacement should give us a slight pump in power, but a bigger improvement in gas milage. Id love to see a C7 coming in at 3000 lbs, to make 440hp, and get 30mpg.
Match it with a leather coverd dash, Recaro-sourced seats, Corvette specific steering wheel, 6spd manual or dual-clutch system optional, and I could go on and on.
One thing the C7 does not need to be is cheaper. Id say base price for a 2013 C7 should come around 55k.
