Sorry to give an opinion that goes against all the experts here who've been building cars since before Henry Ford was on the scene,

but I've been running one of those caps on my AMX for years, and I've found it to be helpful when working under the hood and wanting to moniter coolent temps w/o having to continue running back to the interior to check the gauge.
