True statement, but it doesn't change the fact that it's physically impossible to install a cam "180 degrees out" in an LS1 or any other known SBC.

You can install a distributor 180 out, sure. LS1 doesn't have a distributor.

But there's no such thing as a cam being installed 180deg out of phase w/ respect to the crankshaft position. Physically can't happen.

Go ahead and install the cam with the gear dot at 12 o'clock, ZOMG it's 180 out!!1!!1

Then rotate the crank one turn and you'll see the cam and crank gear dots facing each other like they should. All is well and the engine will crank right up when assembled. This is fact.
