Thank you everyone. It's very hard to lose her, she wasn't just treated like a member of the family, she WAS a member of the family. We planned our whole lives around her, she would come to work with us, go racing with us, family camping trips, etc.

The hardest part is knowing there was nothing we could do. All her life we've been saving her, beating the odds with caring for her. When she was 9 months old she needed surgery because she was diagnosed with hip displasia. A lot of other families would have brought her back, asked for their money back and she would have been put down. Then not long after, in her first heat she had a cyst on her ovary and nearly bled put then. Our vet cancelled all appointments and did an emergency hystorectomy (sp?). She's also had her knee operated on, twice. not from anything hereditary, but she blew it out chasing a squirrel on wet leaves.

So her whole life, we always paid whatever it took to fix her up, probably took better care of her than ourselves. This time there was nothing we could do. When the vet called and said he couldn't find where she was bleeding from and it can't be stopped, it was devastating. the longest 10 mile trip I've ever taken was to go say goodbye. She seemed fine, her tail wiggled and she gave me kisses, but you could see her gums were very pale. Life won't be the same without her, but we'll learn to cope.
