So thats $2050 right there keeping in mind that the person I had assemble it is not that "big" so he doesn't charge as much as the "reputable" shops do around here... So if he can get a fully forged rotating assembly + a block + all the machining/assembly for only $50 more something is definitely weird.
The only way I can see a shop selling something like that for $2100 is if a customer brought them a bunch of parts, had them machine/assemble everything, and then never paid.

or... its someones motor from this past season, getting "refreshed" and cleaned up and sold to fund a new build
