The HMMWV was never really meant to be a combat contact vehicle, it was supposed to replace the old Jeeps to be a "base runner" so to speak, a quick means of transportation. But some idiot decided that they work well with 4,000 lbs of armor with another 2,000 lb turret on the roof, and then add the 5 passengers with all of their gear, weapons, ammo, food, and comm equipment. All of that extra weight turns these "bad boys" into low riders and start breaking everything that makes this truck move.
But its a good thing these things are easy to work on. Because all they are good for is keeping our maintenance bays look busy.
