They are total tools. I would not under any circumstance give my money to a company who has already screwed me and tried to place blame on me personally, I would send the part back and ask for a refund, and if they refuse, get your credit card company involved.
I have a 3 series speed sensor ring I'll sell you if you want it. Perfect condition, just didnt realize at the time you could mallet the thing off the old carrier and knock it onto the know one. It came of my 01 ss m6.
