I built my shortblock with a target of 750 HP, I went with a Callies crank and Manley rods, pistons are JEs. I hear all good things about Lunati parts as well.

If you plan to run all out N/A then you might want to go at least 42s, or maybe a bit bigger? 42lbs are good to about 500-525HP based on the Fuel pressure. I'm 385CI, SC'd and running 42lbs, at 480RWHP I'm in the low 80% duty cycles which is about as far as you want to push injectors. More boost is going to require larger injectors. So I'm thinking that a 408 might need a bit more fuel?
