eBay offers seller protection through PayPal as long as you accept payment through PayPal. They will cover you for any transactions that are considered fraudulent at no additional cost.

eBay allows you 5 free listings a month, and then they charge you a listing fee for any additional listings based at what you set the starting bid at. Any fees that you will pay on those first 5 listings would be for things like extra pictures. I just sold a guitar on eBay and it came to only $2.04 for the listing. When the item sells, eBay and PayPal take a percentage of the final value.

You will get a lot of scam artists on Craigslist. Not saying you won't encounter one on eBay, but with Craigslist, there is no feedback or user ratings that you can go by. I always feel more confident selling through eBay.
