1.If you want the better game system now then get a Xbox but in the long run you will regret not getting a PS3.
2.If you want the better online play then get a xbox.
3. If you want the system with more games then get a Xbox.
4. reliability of the xbox sucks.

Its almost 2010 and its been 4yrs since the xbox has come out and 3 years since the PS3 has come out. I dont understand what everyone means by in the long run? The Xbox still has 10million more systems out there then the PS3 and the only reason that number is even 10 million more is because Japan prefers the PS3 over the Xbox unlike the rest of the world. If the PS3 is really that much better then why is it still trailing the Xbox? I mean with all the PS2 owers out there you would think they would have switched to a PS3 right?

You are telling casual gamers that instead of getting the better system for playing games to get the system that costs more because it has a BR player and can surf the internet? Who cares. If I want to play the best racing game out there then I am going to get the system with the best racing game out there. GT5 should be bad ass but its taking so long to release it that like many others I have given up on it. How does Forza make these amazing racing games without having to put out a 35.00 demo? Thats right the GT5 Demo cost 35.00!! ( I was one of the people who bought it last year) And all the PS fanboys says MS is out for money!

Reliability issues. Has anyone thought that maybe why there are so many more reported RROD then there are repoted PS3 defects is because there are 10 million more xboxs out there then PS3's? I mean there was an entire year of only Xbox 360's and they were judged on everything. But like a good car company they offer a warrenty to replace or fix your system for FREE!! When My PS3 Broke, Sony said oh its been 100 days since you bought it and our warrenty only last 90 days. go buy a new one and that will solve your problem. And MS is out for money!!

So what makes a PS3 better that us Xbox people and people like me who have both systems dont know about?
Before you read ahead, I've stated all along that choosing one console over another is purely personal preference. Both have comparable game libraries, HD space, power, etc etc. Certain games are decision makers for some people and same goes for those that just simply prefer one controller over another. Wait until the latest Final Fantasy releases, this is going to be a HUGE boost for PS3 console sales. When GT5 does eventually hit, expect another boost (even I make fun of the long wait on this game). Similar will happen on Xbox game exclusives. I personally do not care who sells more units as I don't work for Xbox or Sony however I just want enough units to be sold to warrant continued product support.

Here are your comments:
1.If you want the better game system now then get a Xbox but in the long run you will regret not getting a PS3. Xbox didn't support HDMI on all consoles until recently which was something the PS3 had on launch and continues to offer. The PS3's new consoles have either gotten smaller and/or increased HD space from launch. Xbox chooses to either enhance the entire console (need to buy a new one...) or offer peripherals which add to the total system cost. I've had the same PS3 since new and I've needed nothing more than install an update here and there (no mine wasn't bricked), no need to buy a new console or a new peripheral.

2.If you want the better online play then get a xbox. If you like to play online then Xbox is easier to use but I've played online plenty of times with my PS3 and haven't had any problems. Don't let the comments on PS3 online play give you the impression that I can't find a friend or have limited online playing features.

3. If you want the system with more games then get a Xbox. Subjective to the games you WANT to play.

4. reliability of the xbox sucks. It does... Sure PS3's have had failures like any other mass produced electronic piece of equipment but its not even close to the numbers of the Xbox. Looking at the total number of failures compared to the number of units sold isn't how you should look at it. Look at the failure rate figures.

Failure Rate:
Xbox - 54.2% !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS3 - 10.6%
Wii - 6.8%

The fun thing about stats is there is always a way to paint a brighter picture depending upon the data you decided to show. You mentioned the PS3 sales worldwide are lagging by 10 million but the Xbox was released a year before the PS3. First, this is incorrect and the more important fact is sales of the PS3 are clearly out pacing sales of the Xbox. True, overall Xbox sales are still greater than PS3 but this gap is closing quickly....even with it's 1 year head start and lower pricing. These are world wide figures and Japan AND Europe prefer the PS3 over the Xbox. Why is this important? No, not for me to make a choice on the console that is best for me, but we all know having a global market is the key to success. The more sales of PS3's you see, the more support, development money will potentially be spent by game developers and product supporters.

Regarding the comment about the same supporting comments used by the PS3 nutswingers, I am seeing similar comments from the Xbox crew.

- Microsoft's warranty covers issues with the RROD.....OK so you buy a console with major known reliability issues but don't care because it's under warranty? That's ridiculous and a major hassle IMO. Would you buy a car that had major engine issues but didn't care because it had a 100k mile warranty? Yea I didn't think so.

- HD DVD's, this was mentioned and I can't believe that was even a supporting argument for the Xbox. This is a dead format plain and simple. It failed miserably so my condolences to those who have these units and have a limited title range of 300 movies.

- Blu-Ray player built into the PS3. Sure you can go pickup a $120 player but like anything else, you get what you pay for. The PS3 player is very robust and you won't be able to update a standalone player. Plus, adding another device adds a remote in the controller collection we all have (unless you purchase a nice Harmony remote which I have and love).

Again, I can care less who owns what console. I enjoy my PS3 and others enjoy their Xbox. Call me a PS3 fanboy all you want, it does what I need it to do and I haven't been swayed enough by a game or feature of the Xbox to buy one. All I am seeing are weak one sided arguments. I guess COD isn't the same without a RROD.
