Yet there are some people who would say that the current paddle shifters on the steering wheel are the way to go. When I was selling 67-69 GTO's, one of the coolest ways to shift an automatic was with the Hurst Dual-Gate set-up. You could manually shift and slam the lever just like a stick, grab a chirp from 1st to 2nd  and downshift also. It gives you the best of both worlds, just consider being stuck on the Parkway in the summer with a stick, not too much fun. Just my
