4l80 would be nice and your pcm can be programed to control it. i believe they just put the trans tables from a truck on it. th400 would be better for racing and significantly lighter (about 100lbs) but you don't have overdrive. could do a th400 with a gear vendors unit though.
what kind of power do you plan on making?
