I didn't notice any generic threads open about tire and rim sizing questions, so maybe this could be the thread where people can post related questions, and any tire/rim experts could lend some knowledge. Maybe not.
Either way, I'd like to post a question for any "tire experts" on the site:
Will a 235/50/16 tire fit on a 16x7 rim without being detrimental to the tire's sidewall? I believe I plugged in the right numbers
here, and from the looks of it, the tire would stick out 1.15" on either side of the rim. Could someone please correct me if I'm wrong with that math, or give me an opinion as to whether or not that will cause premature wear to the tire?
