Are the headers flat and not warped? Any sign of leaking when you removed the old headers. When you install the header gaskets try spraying then with coppercoat. It will aid in preventing leaking. Do the header have the #1 cylinder with the slip fit joint?
So you have the emmisions on the car? An improperly sealing check valve will make an exhaust leak sound?
Are the rockers on properly? Beveled lip up to seat the lock nut?
Those rockers will work with the old fashion oil deflectors, so you can run the engine with the vavle cover off and not spray oil everywhere. Helpful when looking for this type of noise.
