So you have the emmisions on the car? An improperly sealing check valve will make an exhaust leak sound?
Are the rockers on properly? Beveled lip up to seat the lock nut?
Those rockers will work with the old fashion oil deflectors, so you can run the engine with the vavle cover off and not spray oil everywhere. Helpful when looking for this type of noise.

Honestly, the flange could have warped, I really didn't check it when I swapped the gasket, stupid me.
The headers are pacesetters so no slip fit on the #1 primary, no emissions what so ever on the car, the AIR bungs on the headers are plugged. Rockers are on correctly, the only thing that worries me is the amount of pre load I put on them.
I am running LS7 lifters and the amount of preload that is recomended varies from an 1/8 turn to 3/4 turn. So my absolute worry would be since I run 3/4 turn, I got a PTV issue at WOT and dinged a valve... I really don't know with this car...
