All Firebird Lawn Show postponed to Sunday Sunday July 11, 2010 from 9 am - 4 pm

Friday night July 9 Cruise will go off as scheduled! Current forecast is good for Friday night. YOU MUST be at the Saratoga Auto Museum no later than 5pm. We leave at 5:15 pm sharp. Obviously we hope for no rain. IN EVENT OF RAIN, if you have a tow vehicle, or if you have a support vehicle, or if you are relatively local and want to bring your Daily Driver, that will not be a problem. You can drive your Firebird or any of those. If you bring a non-Firebird, we just ask you to fall in line at the end of the line behind the Firebirds and be part of the All Firebird (plus Support Vehicle) Cruise to the Saratoga PBA. FNONA will have a 50-50 Raffle during the cruise so some lucky cruiser will leave with more money than they brought. Crazy Herbs Texas Barbecue will be there with their Full Menu. See it here: http://www.crazyherbstexasbarbecue.com/ Scroll down near the bottom of the page to their Public Event menu pricing. The Cruise to the Saratoga PBA with Police Escort is free. The food and beverage is ala carte and you will pay Crazy Herb directly. In case of rain, we have a large Covered Pavilion. We also have an enclosed Banquet Hall with bathrooms, etc. Read more about the Cruise below.

-- ALL FIREBIRD CRUISE IS NOW FREE WITH NO RESERVATION REQUIRED!
We made a lot of extra room for Firebirds at our Friday night All Firebird Cruise, so if you want to do the All Firebird Cruise on Friday night July 9, 2010, please be at the Saratoga Auto Museum no later than 5pm. You do not need a reservation although we encourage you to do so and you still have time. JUST LIKE OUR ALL FIREBIRD LAWN SHOW, YOU CAN JUST SHOW UP AND BE PART OF THE CRUISE to a Private Grove. The Cruise is free to all FNONA club members and All Firebird Lawn Show participants. YOU MUST be at the Saratoga Auto Museum no later than 5pm. We leave at 5:15 pm sharp with SSPD escort with Lights and Sirens blasting. We do not stop for stop signs or red-lights. It is like Only Firebirds have the Right Of Way and All Others pull over and get out of the way. Last year one of the SSPD Cruisers blasted over a Double Yellow Solid Line at 80mph and scattered oncoming traffic to get to the front of the Firebird procession and stop all traffic at an approaching intersection! Opposite coming traffic was swerving off the road to get out of the way! You do not want to miss this.

The Cruise will run Rain or Shine. In the event there is rain, you are welcomed to drive in your ‘driver’ or support vehicle or tow vehicle instead of your Firebird if you prefer. The Grove has a covered Pavilion outdoors and a large indoor Banquet facility so we are good to go no matter what. Crazy Herb will be there and we plan to have a 50-50 Raffle for just Cruisers Only! Someone will leave the Cruise with half of the 50-50 pot! There will be a Firebird Nation of North America annual club meeting at the PBA and all FNONA members and non-members are welcomed to attend the meeting and learn about us. We will also accept half year memberships at that time.

Here is the latest on the Friday July 9, 2010 All Firebird Cruise:
1. The Cruise with SSPD Escort will go to a Private Grove at the Saratoga Springs PBA in Saratoga.
2. The Cruise will be free to FNONA club members and show participants.
3. I have arranged for Crazy Herb's Texas Barbecue to attend our event with his full car show menu.
4. All food and beverage items will be ala carte and payable to Herb.
5. Visit Crazy Herb to see his menu offerings and scroll down to see his Public event pricing: http://www.crazyherbstexasbarbecue.com/

6. The Crazy Herb food wagon will be available from 5:15 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. or until everyone is fed.
7. FNONA will offer a 50-50 raffle at the Cruise-In with half to winner and half to FNONA to help defer expenses.
8. Following the Cruise, we will go south to the Host Hotel Fairfield Inn by Marriott for a Tailgate Meet and Greet. There will be a Fairfield Inn choice trophy awarded Friday night.
9. The Meet and Greet starts approximately 8:00 p.m. and will last until the last person standing has pooped out.

New for 2010, we will have Crazy Herb’s Texas Barbecue cater our All Firebird Cruise at the Private Grove. See his menu here: http://www.crazyherbstexasbarbecue.com/

Crazy Herb’s Texas Barbecue will also cater the 8th Annual All Firebird Lawn Show on July 10. That means you no longer have to eat just hot dogs. You can now chow down on hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, SAUSAGE & PEPPERS, BBQ pork, Boneless Chicken, Boneless RIBS, Italian Ice, chips, water, soda, etc. It was time to give our participants a real meal as an expression of our thanks for coming to our show! Menu here http://www.crazyherbstexasbarbecue.com/

We are proud to announce that we have added a few new judges to the staff of the All Firebird Lawn Show including Mike Tyler from Ohio and the Ohio Firebird Club, Pete Defazio from Tennessee, owner of F-Body Warehouse and www.AllGenTransAms.com, and Steve Reed from New Jersey, automotive detailer and owner of 7 Firebirds since 1983.

The All Firebird Lawn Show grounds are on NYS property which is a ‘Carry-In Carry-Out’ NYS Park. Please police the area for any trash before you leave. If you bring anything in, we ask that you take it with you (except $$$ of course) when you leave. There are no public trash receptacles. Please do not litter.

As in 2009, there will be a $2.50 admission to the Saratoga Auto Museum for all show participants. This $2.50 admission per person will allow unlimited visits to the Museum and their restrooms on show day. You must get your hand stamped at the Firebird show registration trailer when you register and before visiting the Museum. As in previous years, the restrooms at the Park Administration building will be open and free of charge. On the same day as the Firebird show is a Corvette Show across the street. Admission to the Corvette Show across the street is included when you show your hand stamp at the Museum and purchase a $2.50 admission.

A Word to the Wise: This event is held inside the Saratoga SPA State Park which is a NO ALCHOHOL ALLOWED PARK and continuously patrolled by NYS Park Police, a division of the NYS Troopers. Radar & Laser are used on a daily basis. The Park speed limit is 25 miles per hour everywhere in the park. Please drive safely, be careful, and respect all park property. Park Police have been checking cars, trunks and coolers for alcohol and confiscate whatever is found.

The show grounds are a NO PET ZONE. No umbrellas, tents, alcohol, glass containers, and NO PETS OR BICYCLES are allowed on the show field. Umbrellas or tents are allowed only on the adjacent fields separated by stone walking paths. Chair umbrellas are ok.

PLEASE: NO BURNOUTS, NO SMOKE SHOWS, NO ALCHOHOL, OBEY ALL TRAFFIC LAWS & DRIVE SAFELY!

REMINDER: Pre-registration IS NOT REQUIRED. You can just show up, register at the registration trailer, and join the fun & Firebirds. Have fun, win prizes, and see the Birds.

As we grow, our insurance requires a few more ground rules set in place:

All Vehicle owners must register at the show trailer and sign a release form. A minimum $10 donation to Special Olympics is required.

Vehicle owners please be advised that Special Olympics will not be responsible for damage to your vehicle.

Adequate space between each vehicle will be provided to reduce the chance of damage to vehicles. If any driver requests additional space, we will try to accommodate you.

Vehicle owners may consider roping off their vehicle to protect it from damages caused by spectators.

Vehicle owners should have someone at their vehicle at all times.

Tom.
