I'd offer to do it but were not GM anymore.
I did the upgrade kit on a few Solstices. If it's similar to the ones I installed there easy, the only thing you need the dealer for is to call and have the VIN number updated so they can download the new software.
One of the cars I worked on we installed the parts for the upgrade and we were not able to program it at the same time. The customer drove home and came back a day or two later for the programing. The check engine light was on but the car seemed to run fine.
edit- You don't have to go to a Chevy dealer. All GM dealership have access to the same software and information. As long as it's not warranty work you should be able to have any GM dealership install the upgrade kit.
