If only Government Motors made such a car? Lets just dream something up real quick...
Has to be light, so lots of carbon fiber and aluminum, throw in a dash of magnesium for some parts of the chassis structure. Smaller = lighter, so cut out a foot or so. Gunna need a lower center of gravity, so whamo, redesign the chassis. Powertrain is good, but maybe it needs a bit more power.
So what we want to build is an aluminum and magnesium space frame, wrapped in light weight materials, namely carbon fiber, powered by a supercharged 6.2 liter engine, massive tires and brakes, advanced MRC suspension, and lets add a decade or so worth of racing engineering and know-how learned from running in an International racing series. Sounds expensive....very expensive, so it will need the full luxury package: leather dash, navi, auto climate, heated seats, etc etc...Man, if they could just put that together, that would be the greatest thing ever...really would.
Camaro ZL1 benchmarks the GT500. Again, Camaro does not have to be, and should not be, everything to everyone.
It is heavy
It lacks features
It is hard for old people to look out of
It has big wheels old people hate
It has a cartoonish design
It will be owned by people that have a lot of money
It will be faster than 95% of the LT1's on this site
