AWESOME story!!!!!! The SR-71 is my favorite jet and I always love seeing "new to me" stories about it. I did a report in 6th grade about the Blackbird

I was on a trip to edwards afb where our jet was helping with the air refueling testing of the F-22 and I got to go see the 2 Blackbirds they had on the ground on NASA's side of the ramp. After that we drove over to the static display in the air museum they have there and I got to actually physically touch one. I gotta tell ya it was like being a kid again meeting one of your heros.

I'll never forget it. We were also the first tanker crew to be allowed into the F-22 hanger for a tour....icing on the cake
