This is one of those areas where 99% of the time more $$$ = more quality. IMO, the best compromise might be to deal with your worn stockers until later this spring when the chance of snow / road salt is gone (so you can DD the vette), and then pull the stockers and send them to Bilstein to be rebuilt. Contact them and they will give you a quote. Won't be dirt cheap, but should still be significantly cheaper than just buying new ones, and you won't have to guess at the ride and handling of aftermarket shocks.
