if the head gasket went and oil is getting into coolant, it wont smoke. it only makes white smoke when coolant gets into the cylinder(a different type of failure of the head gasket)

it was only in the red for a couple seconds i turned the car off while i was driving and pulled over

I dont think i am skilled enought to do a job like that wouled it be ok to change the oil now and flush the radiator? to see if there is a change after ward??
