Yeah if you can do it yourself its a real money saver. Only issue is when you know its not going to happen overnight or you don't really have the time to mess with it. While I'm rebuilding the Trans Am from the ground up, the daily I sometimes have the local mechanic do some things for me just because it doesn't turn into a 2 week project due to weather or something. Next up on the daily is the timing belt, the mechanic will do that. I'm more than capable of doing that job, but weather and no air tools or lift make what should be an easy job a lot harder. On the bright side, I have CV shaft changes down to an hour and a half per side no air tools.
