Look under the dash, like by the steering column for a little silver toggle switch. There may be one hidden to reset the system.
You can remove the alarm system, but some wires may need to be reconnected.
If its an aftermarket system like you're mentioning, the OEM key-fobs wouldn't do anything anyway.
Also, what year is the car and other info?
