BMX, I know about that trick, I've done it myself a few times. The stock LS crank pilot hole is drilled all the way through, though, and has a welch plug in the bottom of the hole, whereas the older iron didn't. I would think you'd have a good chance of knocking that plug in using the grease/hydraulic method.
