Stay away from the roommate route. I once took an apartment that I couldnt afford by myself because me and one of my friends ive known for 10 years at the time could together. it ended up with him losing his job and both of us with an eviction on our record because he refused to leave, refused to look for a new job and we are no longer friends.
the only way i would ever split a house with someone again is if the landlord charged each person separately for their rooms. just saying
