Is this a fuel pump issue?

So I've been out of the Fbody game for a few years now as I picked up a G8 2 years ago and dumped a lot of cash into it, sold it this week and bought a 01 Z28 from a fellow member. Now I've had LS1 Fbodies in the past 2 Trans Am's, and a formula so I have experience with the cars.
The z28 has the standard fbody fuel gauge jumping needle where it will go from full to empty then back to full in a matter of seconds.

In assuming the fuel pump would need to be replaced, is this a correct assumption?
From the bit of Google research I've done I found that racetronix is now the go to instead of walbro now days, is this the case? And if so is the following link the correct kit that I need?

And to top it off I've completley rebuilt a ls1 drive train a few times but never had to drop the fuel tank. How hard is it for a first timer to do in a drive way? Is there any one local to Hamilton that would be able to give me some advice or even a hand?


Just to clarify things I would be dropping the tank as this is a convertible and I'd rather not hack thing ups.
