it's all about pointing the finger everywhere but at yourself. you can claim you didn't know what the 'legal limit' is in NJ (which is zero tint on the driver/passenger side windows - i remember a HUGE debate over on that other NJ website with people exchanging heated words, "but my car is from NY or FL or EastBum**** and they should allow it), but ignorance is no defense. sometimes it sucks learning your lessons the hard way, and sometimes people don't learn unless it is the hard way. if they let one person "get away with it" then what happens to the structure of the law? bye bye freedom, hello anarchy.
it's easy to get pissed off at the cop who is arresting you for drunk driving when you are .11 and the legal limit is .10 (yet, you didn't know the limit in NJ, so he should've let you go for only being one point over), it's easy to get pissed off at the judge who slaps you with a $500 fine for driving without an inspection sticker, it's easy to get pissed off at the guy in the inspection station because he won't pass your car (for whatever reason) - hell, i get pissed off a lot, too, for a myriad of reasons, but i usually think about it and realize that i was the ******* and that they had every right to enforce the law. and sometimes i even think about it before i go posting it on a message board... sometimes.
the laws are really there to protect the people (at large, or so we hope), not to inconvenience you. and now i'm just an ******* for pointing all of this **** out. thanks for the opening, tim.
