1971 cars have no cat and are very light on emissions - not like 80's and 90's cars that would now qualify for QQ plates due to the 25 year rule.

There is no visual inspection (like CA) for emissions equipment - if you have a car with a computer - they plug in. So if you pass emissions (and anything your year has no computer), you should have no worries.
