I picked up a nice clean used tank today thanks to James(bear).
I also cleaned up the sender and mounted the new fuel pump on it.
This week I'll get it all back together, blow out the lines, and install the new fuel filter. I will test the pump prior to bolting in the rear and exhaust just in case.

edit: sender is junk, float resister fell apart. New one has been ordered.
