By looking at the pictures of the vette starter. My broken starter should be fine. But i guess they are built different?
So do i just pull the trans cover off and pull the starter thru there or ??

Nope. Undo two bolts going up into the block and slide starter back. Lower down and undo the power and signal wires or disconnect wires first if you can. Don't forget to disconnect the battery first!
