I went over to Wayfast's to help him get a stripped bolt outa his engine, and I took the AMX. The trip over was uneventful, the bolt came out easily, and Matt seemed to like the AMX. Usually when I leave Matt's I "get lost" and come home a different way then the way I take over to his place. Well, tonight I went the "right" way, and I stopped to get gas on my way home. Well, there were a buncha teens working/hanging out at the gas station, and they all went NUTZ when I pulled in! They were all over me and the car, and I musta been there a good 10 mins just answering questions, everything from how a fuel cell is different from a gas tank, to "do the cops mess with me?" Then the topper was 2 of the dood's hottie g/fs asked to get their pict taken w/ the car. I was like "HELL YEAH!" And they even asked me to be in the picture! As I was leaving there I did a massive schmoker burnout, and all was good. Then I made my way towards 287, and my good day was about to get EXTREMELY f'd up! I got on the ramp to get on 287, and I hit some MASSIVE pot holes! I could tell just by the way I hit that my rims were gonna be messed up. I got really mad, and uttered some words not meant for man or beast. I got on 287, and I sped up, and I thought I could feel a vibration not there before, like one caused by bent wheels. At this point I just wanted to get home so I could survey the damage. Well, of course traffic was heavy, and a total doosh bag in an Audi w/ Pa plates was hogging the fast lane. I didn't tailgate him or flash my brights...I just wanted to get around his lame azz. So, I pull into the middle lane, and attempt to go past him so I could pull over into the fast lane and keep moving. Well, dooshy Audi speeds up, so I can't get over to the fast lane. So, I get behind him until I get a space in the middle lane, and I try it again. Well, azzclown Audi does the same thing. At this point I'm ballistic, so I pull up next to him in the middle lane, and give him a 2 handed middle nose picker salute. Well, he gets all PMSey, and acts like he is gonna side swipe me, and starts moving over into the middle lane. I react by moving towards the slow lane, but there is a car there. At this point I say "F it." It ain't worth getting my car smashed up because of some doosh bag. So, I slow down, and get in the slow lane. And go from there. I got home and checked my wheels: both fronts are bent, and adding this to my rear one that got scraped up at the grease trux, means I have 3 bad wheels outa 4. Oh well. Some time this week I'm gonna try and take 'em off and get 'em fixed. I can't stand to dwell on crap like this.

Sorry to hear bob. I know the feeling of F'n up wheels. I fubared my passenger sides at the Trucks one time and I didn't know what to do so i ended up selling them.

That sucks. When I 1st got my 82 TA, I got pushed off the road by a benny jackhole on rt35 in Belmar. Tore chunks out of new ARE rims. Sucked. I still have the other 2.

bob u coulda just knocked them outta balance or had a belt shift. unless u can get the wheel itself on the balancer u wont kno

If there is no sidewall damage, your tires should be fine.

damn thats does blow. I fear for my 18's every time I drive around on these lovely roads. Haven't hit any nasty potholes yet (pray).

BTW, how were the rims trashed at the Trucks? Two instances of wheel damage is enough for me to ask since I've wanting to get over there.

The reason I curb'd mine was because the incline is pretty steep when your turning into the parking lot so while I was trying not to bottom out on my lowered car coming in at an angle and watching the incline I didn't see the stone curb on my right side and tanked it.

Alex's wheels really got FUBAR'D, I only scraped the lip on a rear one. But it was still damage I didn't need!

The tires LOOK ok...the rims are just bent on the lip...like the edge is kinda squared off. I've had bends like this repaired before, and the wheel/tire was fine afterwards. It's just the added hassle/expense I must now deal with...

As stated, one of my back wheels has been scraped up for a while, so I'm gonna get 'em all fixed BY A PRO! I've hammered rims back into shape on cars I didn't care about, but the AMX gets only DA BEST!!!
