				yeah, so i hit 170mph in my car  a couple weeks back
			 
			 
			
		
		
		
			
			Im not condoning going this fast by any means, i figure i'd share this with yall. 
 
What youre about to read is not BS. 
 
this was without n2o as well. 
 
This one is about racing a new Charger R/T on the way to work going up rt 55 in the early AM.    
 
i was passing a guy in the right lane and the charger came up on me outta no where and decides to take it to the shoulder to go by. 
 
he had to slow up for a couple cars that were up ahead so i casusally rolled up on him. A slow moving truck gets into the right lane, the charger then proceeded to gun it, as do I. I actually had to let off a lil so i wouldnt push him out of my way.  he moves over to right lane, around 120 mph, i just stay on it in 5th gear. ( i have 373s, that = no downshift into 4th) it pulled fine. i noticed there was no traffic, so i stayed on it, figured im gonna add insult to injury, because he was so desperately trying to hang with me even after i pulled on past.   140mph.. 150mph.. pegged. Im  Glancing at the tach now; the shift lite comes on around 5900-6000 rpm, i stay on it a lil longer, since my new redline is 6400, figured im gonna max her out, then it cuts out, id say roughly around 6100-6200rpm and  im like huh did i break something?? then remembered i reset my speedlimiter on HP Tuners to 170mph, and i think to myself, it was still pulling, i couldve done 175 or more. 
 
my shocks were set at 8 which was the stiffest setting, my tires are Z rated and no, i wasnt going to sustain 170+ mph for more than a few seconds, it cut out and i let off after that.  the car actually felt really good at high speeds, she hunkers down.    what a great way to start my day!

 If you do the math.. based on 3.73 gears and 1 to 1 OD gear he would need to turn 8500 rpm in order to reach 170mph.. Its BS
 
Now if he had 2.73 gears then he would need less rpm to reach the top end speed.

Hahaha, oh thank you for throwing the BS flag. ive been waiting all night to prove that lucky contestant [you] WRONG, and believe me i shall back this up with websites, info, etc..    
first of all i wanna know where you got your information on 150mph top speed with 3.73s. Im a M6 car, the gearing is slightly different than a A4. A4's would actually have a slightly higher theoretical top speed in 4th than i would in 5th, assuming the rear axle ratios are the same. Anyhow, the max speed in 5th gear with 3.73s in my car is 179mph with my rev limiter set to 6400rpm.  at 6000 rpm, the max speed is 168, which i was over since my shiftlite comes on at 6k rpm and it climbed past that.  at 6100 rpm the max speed is 171, and then it cut off, which would make sense since  i set my speedlimiter to 170mph on hptuners  
1.)  www.f-body.org/gears  has some accurate tables on LS1 cars. I know this because i compared the table to real life conditions, such as top speed/gear, speed while cruising at certain rpm in different gears, 3 different axle ratios that I have used- 3.42, 4.11, and 3.73 and also, different tire heights,  such as 315 35 17s that i had on my ZR1s when i first bought the car, 245 50 16s  and 255 50 16s, in which i currently have.   It is accurate within 1 mph. when i was on the stock rev limiter,  i had 4.11s with a 255 50 16 tire  (26" tall)  i used to hit the rev limiter going thru the traps in 4th gear- i trapped at 112mph and some change.  if you go on that site, and put in the information it will tell you 113mph is the top speed at 6,000 rpm. in 4th gear.   i have in car video of this to back it up as well if need be
 
2.)  Top speed is limited yes, but as i stated earlier,  i changed the speed limiter to 170mph with HP Tuners

Its not BS, and there wont be any body parts being sent anywhere, because  the car can handle hitting 170mph and slowing back down. 150mph is nothing, i can hit 160 in a standing mile. i found this out on a 3 mile straight, flat stretch of road with no intersections and other BS.   
 
If you have the balls, you can go for a ride with me one day, and i could prove that im not BS'ing  you.  I dont go flying around like some dumb ricer and hit innocent bystanders.  Sure you can say "thats just stupid, I'm not gonna do that."  its ok, If you are scared, i understand. i will just have video and also have HP tuners hooked up, since that has a digital readout on there.
