funny sight on the way home from school...

I was driving home from school tonite on 287, and i saw flashing lights up ahead.....a cop and a tow truck. I figure there was an accident or something. I slowed down, and i when i saw what the problem was I started laughing hysterically. The grass median on that stretch of 287 has a ditch in it, and another cop had driven off onto the grass to set up a speed trap. guess he didn't figure on the ditch being there, and he couldn't get back out, so he called the tow truck. I laughed for about 10 minutes he must not have every light on upstairs.

I got pulled over 2 nights ago. 95 in a 55. Good thing he got me when he did. I was up to 115 (this was at 12 in the morning). First thing he said was "Is this a real Iroc"? and we talked about my car. My friend said that I shoulda said "Yeah I ROC U". Anyways. he pointed back and said "thats not a camaro or a mustang its a crown vic, I had to do 130 to catch up to you.". I just said, well had it been a mustang it woulda been a bit of a problem and he just laughed. Yay for cops who are nazis.

how is the cop a nazi? he was doing his job by pulling you over when you were going nearly twice the limit...

and by the way, you'd have a hard time outrunning a stock 5.0 fox-body stang :P

Ehhh a 305 TBI Camaro Vs a 5.0 Fox Body Stang? You would stand NO chance stock vs stock! The only way you may be in the stangs ball park is if it were an automatic..My buddys 90 5.0 LX went into the high 13's. Only Mods were 70 mm Edelbrock Throttle Body, 3:73 Gears, Aluminum DS, and a King Cobra Clutch. This was all on BFG Radial TA's. Car was just sold as of 3/13/05.

yea we all have stories about jackass cops but like cbrrmike said...that's a very slim minority of the police officers that are out there...the majority of them are cool people just like us that are just trying to do their job, which alot of times means layin there life on the line...i always see everyone on f-bod forums saying great things about how they appreciate everything members of the military are doing overseas and whatnot but what about the cops? at least the military(most of the time) knows who is and isnt an enemy...cops dont have that luxury ever...so dont give them a hard time or get all bent out of shape about someone just trying to do their job

This might make me sound like an a-hole but I've got an opinion about cops and people that work in high risk jobs. Nobody forced them to be a cop/military/fireman, it was THEIR choice. THEY know what comes with the job, if not, their fault. These people get paid good money to do what they do, which is put their lives on the line everyday. Why should they be treated any differently? They get to go home feeling good about their jobs where some of us only get the luxery of cursing about being pulled over.
It's like the military oversea's that complain about being over there. It's not like they didn't know the risk when they signed that piece of paper, so why should I feel bad? Don't forget that every job has it's pros and cons. I have a friend that is a cop and he says bad things about his cop buddies all the time. That's just part of their job.
You don't accept a paycheck as a janitor and expect people to clean the bathroom for you! Get my drift?
I give them a professional respect that they deserve but I have every right to complain about them when I get an unfair shake. When I get a ticket for something that I know is a problem then I accept it, but sometimes I get pulled over for the dumbest **** and that's when I hate on em.

nothing wrong with that, but the captian dosent go into the roll call meeting saying to screw with guys that have lowered cars, they are the individual hardasses on powertrips. even with the position i took earlier ill be the first to admit i have major personal problems with certain members of my local pd.

and yes knowing the risks of the job comes with the territory.

i'm referring to the cop i have encountered...had a couple that were cool, but a lot have been pricks...like one gave me a hard time when i slightly chirped the tires backing into a space...and another time when i was pulled over(first time ever too) and the cop said..."I was gonna let you go, but you didn't pull over fast enough"...considering that i was on a busy street and was in the fast lane, i had to wait for traffic to pass first...but for the most part, i get along with cops pretty well...have a few friends that are cops/correction officers

Mike, no matter what you do, once you put that uniform on all will change. There will be no denying the fact that the people you are friends with now will see you differently (Good or Bad) and most of time time, with the people I have seen go through this its bad. I know a guy who recently became a cop and he no longer hangs out with the normal group. It was really weird to no longer see him cruisin with the gang, but its just how it goes. Most people (im not saying all) will see you as the bad guy (especially if your friends are lookin to street race and what not). Our buddy just pretty much got up and left once he got into the uniform...whatever happens I say good luck, but the respect/treatment you get now will change!
