sportbike people...where are good shops
I'm looking for a good sportbike performance shop. I'm doing an extended swingarm and i need to find a place that i can buy a new longer chain. I also wanna buy the power commander, K&N, chrome windscreen, and some riding gear in the spring. The two shops up by me closed down recently and I dont know of anywhere else good. As of now, i think i'll be going up to action cycle in NY.

what kind of bike?? Im ordering my power commander through www.ONEIDASSUZUKI.com later on tonight. Along with a Hypercharger intake too, maybe they bike wont be so chocked.
www.Leatherup.com is a good place to get some gear i think. I got my 229.99 leather riding jacket there for 70.00 bucks ... roughly.

the bike in my avatar. '03 ninja zx636r. i bought it brand new in june of '02, but rarely ridden since then, its got like 1800 miles on it only. So far i just have a two bros pipe and aftermarket directionals. oh and i removed the rear fender. I wanna do the programmer since '03 was the first year for fuel injection on the zx6r series ninjas. I also wanna do a header if i can find a company the makes one thatll work with my pipe. K&N filter is a must too. I already bought a oem swingarn to send in as a core for the extended one, which will be at a fixed 6" entension. Main purpose of the swingarm is for the next mod, nitrous. As it is now, in 1st when i roll the throttle evenly, at about 7k it easily picks up the tire. now if i spray..i want to keep the tire down and the swingarm will take care of that. When i first got the bike i was talkign to a bunch of people about my plans. It comes with about 103 rwhp and Two bros dynoed 108 with just their pipe, so i figure with the header i'll get about 3 more hp, K&N like another 3, and like 8 with the programmer. thatll put me around 120 rwhp, and then i'm going with a 25hp shot. all that on a bike with the dry weight of right around 350lbs.

awesome man .. my 05 was the first year for fuel injected crusiers in the suzuki line
I was on the borderline between power commander and the Cobra FI 2000 for a fuel processor. The PC has factory style plugs and the FI 2000 has to be soldered. The PC is more expensive, but has maps you can download off the website and it has better programming abilities. The FI 2000 doesnt need programed and I have heard of people using them not having problems, but I rather just get the PC, pay the extra money, and be able to have it dyno tuned at cycle world in cherry hill (not far from me)

No you dont, unless you plan on killing yourself the first day out. You can get one someday, but not as your first bike. Sportbikes are dangerously fast, most people dont realize it and they hop on a big too fast for them and they learn the hard way. I learned to ride on a 94 250 ninja, then my first bike was a 88 ninja 600r. after that i bought a friends modded 91 ninja zx6d, once i was more than comofrtable on that, i got a 99 honda CBR600F4 that i bought totalled and rebuilt, that bike hauled ass. After riding my friends bike and having my '03 ninja for a while, i feel im finally ready to step up and get my bike faster. I would never recommend the work im doing to a beginner, nor would i even recommend my bike stock for a beginner. A week before i picked mine up at the dealer, a local kid put his down at 90mph because he was showing off and not thinking, he was reving it at a light, went to go and just gave way too much around a turn a dumped it. luckily his leg stayed attached even though the bone came out. Another friend of mine was going to fast around a bend and grabbed the brakes...big mistake, now he has metal pins in his leg and ankle(that kid was who i actually sold the 91 ninja too, so i felt sorta responsible). And then theres the guy who bought a liter bike on rt 46, never rode before and opulled out of the parkign lot..and went full speed into the middle divider, wrecking a $9k bike. Sorry i went on a tangent with all this but i see it way too often and those riders give all riders a bad name. Yes my bike will be insanely quick but it will be on the track and i will mess aroudn with it. I realize there always is soemthign to fear about bieks and you should never get over-confident. ill shut up now.... lol

exzactly why I said not untill I have been riding for a while! I can see my first real bike being a $400 basket bike that me and my father will put together, Its the one and only thing me and him both like! we went to the nj bike show last year and met joe martin, i think it was one of the last things we did together that we both enjoyed..Plus when Im 15 ill be getting an insanely slow moped

i just got a bike for christmas, but it needs work. 1974 Honda CB 550. A cruiser. Definitely a good (slow and light haha) beginners bike. But now I'm saving up to get it fixed up, take a riding course, and also get some gear. Cuz I wanna keep my legs attatched and the bones inside of them. If you're in central jersey and you see a chick in the middle of the summer with full leathers on, that'll be me. No matter how hot it is outside. hahaha.

qwikz28, sorry, today wasn't happening for the shop, i had to deal with DMV, apparently my town doesnt like several unregistered vehicles on my property lol..yet they only pick out one to bitch about, so now i have a bronco registered that has nothing in front of the windsheild...but now its legal and can look as crappy as i want...
oh one ls1 ss, congrats on the purchase, ride safe. as for windscreen chekc out lockhartphillips.com if the bike is brand new, theyll be one of the first for windcreens. for pipes and such, just check manufacturer websites for their newest products. flushmounts and shortstalk markers can be bought from lockhartphillips or most any sportbike shop. as for seatbelts... i know how you feel, lol. pic looks sweet, i just dont know if i like that oem pipe, very interesting. Oh and get that rear fender off there ASAP, itll look SO much better, ill post a pic of the back of my bike soon. we'll have to go riding this spring sometime, maybe a NJFBOA riding crew even lol. congrats again and keep the rubber side down.

heres a pic of my front shortstalks, bought them for like $7 at a local shop going out of business, retail is like $24. i used part of the oem signal stalks to mount them so the look/fit right.

and here is a rear veiw, once i get a new taillight with extra LEDs built in for tunr signals, im removing the clear directionals under it. Also there is a light on one side of the plate, which is mounted all the way towards the front of the wheelwell, and not visable from the sides, lol.

yeah the fender is the rear flap that holds the plate and reflectors, back in the late 80's and 90s, they were part of the undertail splashgaurd, now they are just bolted on because everyone takes them off right away, lol. for a good bike site, check out sportbike.net i used to go there under the name SmokingF4.
also almost all bikes since like 2002 now come with finished undertails(plastic cover under the seat section), rear hugger(black lower "mudflap", and solo seat cowls(cover for the pass. seat), back in the late 90's those parts would be like $600 in extras.
EDIT: website is www.sportbikes.net
