Rode in my friends Supra
Took a tag alone ride in my friends 88 Supra... dont know much about em, but man this thing definatly hauled. Very different acceleration feeling then what I'm used to, as soon as the car hit 3.7-4k rpm it just took off. I know he had a 16psi turbo in it and was a 7M motor I think? Something with a 7 in it... but I'm definatly impressed. But at the same time, definatly makes me appreciate being able to wail on the gas at 2k rpm and gettin a similar feeling
Any guesstimates as to what he was putting down? those are the only mods i heard him mention that stuck, but looking at it he had a blow off valve, headers, yadda yadda...

Wait...
Jimmy? If so, I helped assemble his motor and whatnot. He has a 7MGTE With a large (63MM) single turbo
Jonny? If so, I helped assemble his motor and whatnot. He has a 1JZ with a large (66MM) single turbo
Kevin? If so, I did nothing on that car.

I love supras, they are one of the only three japanese cars I would ever consider owning, the other two being an R34 Skyline GT-R and an NSX (preferably a Type-zero). Amazing cars, I saw a MkIV supra ata dyno day putting down 1200 horsepower and it was street driven too. Sick stuff man.

Yeah, dennis. So the tranny fixed itself?
And as for running 12.7 in the 1/4 Al, they are doing it at 140+
How you can tell a real supra driver. He doesnt ask ET, but MPH. Hell, Jimmy ran (on a **** setup) a best of 14.2 I think, but at around 112.

What do you think he can do with his 16psi setup? I am clueless about these inline 6'ers, i dont even know his weight or tranny ratios... think he said the rear was 3.90, but other then that I have no idea... and since his speedo doesnt work, I had no clue how fast we were going at any time.

Oh I hate supras, ugly as ****... i wouldnt take one if it ran 7's and could fly nonstop from Newark to LAX on a single tank of gas. i'm just curious about it. too much effort and a shame to associate my name with an account on a supra forum

Yup, the MKIV supra Like I said, one of the only 3 Japanese cars I would drive, the other two:
R34 Skyline GT-R:
Engine shot RB26DETT:
And the Acura (technically Honda) NSX:
I'll only take either one if they are right hand steer though, none of that converted to the left for the US crap.

The R34 is a nice looking car, IMO, but the NSX has always been the supercar wannabe.
